Day 1: Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Chachabamba - Wiñayhuayna - Machu Picchu
Day Itinerary
We will start the excursion very early in the morning, after picking you up at your hotel we will transfer you in our private vehicles from the hotel to the train station, where we will start our tour on the train, your guide will start to point out different mountains and landscapes and introduce you to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. After two hours, we will arrive at KM "104 " After a short rest, we will begin our hike. The first archaeological center we will visit is Chachabamba at 2,250 meters (7,381 feet) altitude. Then, we will ascend gradually for approximately three hours, towards the fascinating archaeological site called Wiñayhuayna at 2,650 m (8694ft). Here, we will learn about the site, enjoy its charm and have lunch. After our rest, we will continue through a semi-tropical forest towards the Intipunku (Sun Gate), the place where we will enjoy the first panoramic view of the citadel of Machu Picchu. You will have time to enjoy the impressive mountains and deep valleys surrounding the Sun Gate. You can also see the Urubamba River from the gate. From here we will walk another 45 minutes until we reach Machu Picchu; after enjoying Machu Picchu we will head to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night.
Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco
Day Itinerary
Today, you will have the choice between waking up at 4:30 a.m. and going up to Machu Picchu or taking a bus to Machu Picchu. In Machu Picchu you will have a guided tour for about two hours and then you will be free to explore the citadel and take pictures, in the afternoon, you will have to be in Aguas Calientes at the train station to take the train back to Ollantaytambo; from there we will pick you up and take you back to Cusco by bus.

The exact information provided by you will be sent to the government institution in charge of regulating access to the Inca Trail and will be included in the official permit to enter the Inca Trail on the requested date. If there is any change in the above mentioned data (i.e. new passport number), please inform the Reservations Department of Manu National Park Peru Operator by email as soon as possible. The government reserves the right not to allow entry to any visitor whose details are not the same as those on the official permit. Manu national Park Peru Operator excludes any liability for non-entry in case the passenger's information has changed without prior notice.
