We start our day by picking you up from your hotel at 5:00 am and drive to the starting point of the Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain hike. Located south of Cusco, we travel for approximately 4 hours by private transportation to the trailhead, where we will provide you with breakfast.
On the way, we will see beautiful Andean mountains, as well as green valleys, local people working on their land and hundreds of alpacas and llamas. If we are lucky, we will make a stop to observe vicuñas in their natural state. When we arrive in Apacheta, we will begin our hike to Palccoyo Mountain. After a 10 minute walk, we will arrive at the first viewpoint, from where you will enjoy the first view of the Rainbow Mountain. We will take pictures and drink water. Then, we will walk another 10 minutes to the second viewpoint, where we will take pictures of the second mountain. After another 10 minutes of walking, we will arrive at the third viewpoint, where you will be impressed by the third mountain. This viewpoint is the place from where you will take the classic postcard photo of Palccoyo.
After enjoying the beautiful colorful mountains, we will walk back to the starting point. Then, we will take the van for approximately 2 hours to the village of Ttio, where we will have lunch in a local house, prepared by our chef. After enjoying our delicious meal, we will drive another hour and a half to Cusco. We will drop you off at your hotel around 5:00 pm.
